Recorded live at Crypticon 2025. The Vern brings on two great guests to talk about some of the most memorable moments from horror movies new and old. This time in front of an actual live audience.

Wolf Man

Writers: Leigh Whannell, Corbet Tuck
Director: Leigh Whannell
** and a 1/2 *'s out of 5
Adapting the classic werewolf tale for a modern audience is no easy feat. Especially since the original The Wolf Man staring Lon Chaney Jr from 1941 has been made into countless other hair raising tales. From American Werewolf in London to Dog Soliders and Teen Wolf to just plain Wolf. There is no shortage of stories for audiences to sink their teeth into.
Hayride to Hell
Cast: Bill Moseley, Kane Hodder. Allyson Malandra
Writers: Kristina Chadwick, Robert Lange
Director: Dan Lantz
When I went into this horror feature, I was expecting it be a generic story of a man seeking revenge against those that did him wrong. It would make the victims our protagonists and it would frame our main antagonist as another crazy deformed slasher. What I liked best about Hayride to Hell is that it’s victims are really the bad guys that we want to see them get disposed of by the killer
The Substance
Cast: Demi Moore, Margaret Qualley, Dennis Quaid
Writer and Director: Coralie Fargeat
We apologies for all the audio issues and abrupt endings that happened during this episode.

Our guest this week was filmmaker Jill Gevargizian and it was so cool to talk with the director of many great horror shorts as well as her award winning feature, The Stylist. Ashley and The Vern had so much fun recording this episode and we hope you enjoy this show too.
Ashley and The Vern return to bring you a short review of the new horror movie starring the band The Foo Fighters, Studio 666. It's the one where Dave Grohl gets possessed by a demon to help finish a song. Listen to what we thought in this short episode.
