Femme Fatale February: Glida (1946)

She slides into my office and shuts the door.  Wearing a tight black dress with lips as red as hell.  I knew that this could mean trouble but I didn't mind.  She introduced herself and said she had a podcast called In Bed with Nikky.  I ask if I can take her coat and she obliges. Pointing to a chair for her to sit, I ask if I can make her a drink.  She smiles and says that would be a nice treat while she watches.  Nikky tells me she loves to watch.  I can feel myself getting very nervous when I ask what what does she like to watch.  She replies ever so gently but strong too, movies.  She loves to watch movies and she really enjoys it when others watch with her.  So I make myself a drink and join her to watch and discuss the film noir. Gilda (1946) starring Rita Hayworth

This is the last in our Femme Fatale February series and it's been an absolute blast having all the amazing guests who have appear this month.  Please go back and listen to past episodes if you haven't already.

Femme Fatale February: Basic Instinct (1992)

It was a dark and musty night when my next guest strolled into my podcast studio.  Wearing a white dress that seemed to hug her figure in al the right ways.  I don't really know what she looks like because after all this is  audio and I can't really see anything.  I just wanted to make this intro sound more  film noir like.   Anyways

Blake Turck from Style Island and Sexy Thrillers joins The Vern to discuss a film classic.  Basic Instinct stars Sharon Stone as Catherine Tramell, a novelist who gets accused of murder.  We dive into this neo noir erotic thriller with our ice picks and pick apart many aspects of this movie in great detail.  We also discuss the sequel and the controversial Promising Young Woman too.
