Seeing these tremendous silent spectacles with a live band really added a lot to the experience. Watching a man remove his head only to have it reapear so he can make copies of it or a wrestling match involving fighers who limbs break off eachother was exciting enough. Especially when you realize that this was made in the early 20's. Seeing them with live music and sound effects was truly special.
Jean Francois Alcolea and his band use a wide range of instruments and objects for each short and they make each one very unique and different from eachother. Using items like a toy piano a slide whistle along with delayed effects really added a lot to the event and is worth checking out if it comes to your city
